We start this ride at Meadowbank Wharf and cruise along the northern shore of the Parramatta River following the Parramatta Valley Cycleway (PVC) route. After 8km, we turn up towards the university, then right and left to join the wide path aside the light-rail for 4+km.
At the path end in Carlingford, we U-turn and return. But, nearing the university, we continue ahead across the bridge, still aside the light rail. After following the path right towards Parramatta, we turn left at traffic lights and head south on Alfred St for 1+km. Under the M4, we turn left to join the M4 cycleway. This cycleway with a roof; runs under then alongside the M4 motorway and provides a low stress route back to Homebush.
The route heads north through the back streets of Silverwater to cross Silverwater Bridge and reverse the route to the starting point. Coffee can be with minor deviation, either after 19km, east of Parramatta, or into Newington after 25km. The ride normally takes about 3 and a half hours at a steady pace.
