Enjoyable gravel and road ride along picturesque trails and roads in the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park.
Features: Fire trails through stunning bushland, view over Cowan Creek.
Suitability: Suitable only for reliable and well maintained gravel or mountain bikes. Riders must be able to navigate their own way around the route and should be familiar with first aid.
Route Description:
The ride begins at Berkelo Bakery and we head for a short distance along McCarrs Creek Road and turn off to head down Duckholes Trail for some fun ups and downs along a fire trail with some dry creek beds, exposed sandstone and mildly technical downhills. A quick climb up West Head Road take you to Centre Trail which is a fairly flat and exposed trail cutting across to General San Martins Road. Then it’s road back to Terry Hills when we head along the Perimeter Trail and Long Trail to the lookout over Cowans Creek. We retrace or steps back to Terry Hills and finish with a refreshment at the café.

Bailout option is available at the 13km mark when we loop back through Terrey Hills.
Important Considerations:
• Carry ample water, as there are no refilling options.
• Bring plenty of snacks.
• Ride with a safe stopping distance, especially on downhills.
• Do not rely on riders ahead to choose the correct line or speed.
• Hazard calls for obstacles such as rocks and sticks may be too frequent, so stay alert and scan the trail ahead.
• Trail surface may have changed due to wet weather, erosion and maintenance.

• Nerang Avenue 34.7km to regroup and ride together to the cafe
