BIKE NORTH EARLY RIDES - THE THERMOS AND THE CAFE IN CONCORD | | Early rides with Bike North were a casual affair. Doug Stewart ran Easy Rides, with small group numbers. He would take coffee in a thermos flask, small plastic cups and a lunchbox of sliced fruit cake for the break. Discussions were held over how they would cope if Bike North ever got over the huge numbers of 12-14 on rides! Over time, the thermos became too small, and an early member recalls the ride where some riders decided to visit the local cake shop, returning to the group with chocolate eclairs and coffee. The thermos was never seen again, and rides were then planned around that cake shop - Le Palme Patisserie, Concord. | We are running a series of Heritage Rides over the coming weeks, that trace the path of our early rides. | ADDING A PICTURE TO YOUR BIKE NORTH PROFILE | | Last week Bike North members were informed of a new feature of our website that allows registered members of a ride to view photo and name of other riders registered on that ride. Bike North encourages all members to upload a photo to their member profile. To do this, simply: log on to the Bike North website --> click on your NAME --> select PROFILE --> click on PHOTO --> UPLOAD your photo. | | | BICYCLE NSW DISCOUNT
