16 September 2026              Your Bike North NewsLETTER

We are two weeks into our September Activ8 promotion and already 57 members have achieved the target of two rides in September, with many more having done one ride. Well done, but there are many more members who need to get activ8ed, register for a ride and get out in the amazing weather we are now experiencing.

Our calendar has looked great, with 27 rides listed in the first two weeks, covering every Bike North grade, so there is a ride for you. Keep your eye on the calendar as more rides are being listed daily.

So let’s Activ8 this September and enjoy the benefits of great riding and even better friends on a Bike North ride.

Summer cycling

Winter’s gone, and most cyclists would be happy to leave those frosty mornings behind. Trying to get enough layers on, without looking like “The Michelin Man” is always a challenge so the Summer warmth is always welcome but Summer has its own challenges.

So, what do you need to do to safely cycling in Summer?

Advocacy Success

Some advocacy submissions result in immediate actions to rectify safety concerns, whilst others could take years to bring to fruition.
After almost 10 years of advocacy, a shared path has finally been completed along Norwest Boulevard, Bella Vista. Funded by the NSW Government to the tune of $3.1 million, the path links Windsor Road past the Norwest Metro Station to Old Windsor Road.
At the eastern end, it links up with the Windsor Road shared path and Showground Road to Castle Hill whilst at the western end, links to the M7 shared path as well as the Old Windsor Road/ Windsor Road network as far as Windsor. Links also exist to Parramatta.
The new shared path provides a safe active transport link from Norwest Metro to businesses like Woolworths Headquarters, Amazon and Resmed at the western end of the path.
The Hills Shire Council often uses Bella Vista Farm for cultural events. The new path will provide a much-needed active transport link from the Norwest Metro to such events.
With recreational, commuter and cultural uses, this new infrastructure will be a major gain for The Hills.

There is a slight delay in the Bike North clothing shop opening, it is now open, minus the long sleeve jersey. If you were specifically wanting the long sleeve jersey your wait might be a few weeks, but it is coming.
Order our latest design jersey short sleeve available. Team it up with a gilet, socks, cap and arm warmers (thermal or UV) for the full BN look!

 OUR JERSEY

Features of the Bike North jersey include:
• Short sleeve “Bronze Comp” jersey in ultra lightweight fabric combines lightness, casualness and breathability. Sleeve length is 4cm longer than a standard jersey sitting just above the elbow, a more relaxed design yet still offers body-hugging fit for comfort.
• Moisture-wicking fabric supports body temperature regulation and comfort
• Three back pockets and one small, zippered pocket.
• Bike North colours and logo.
• Available in a range of sizes from XXS to 4XL.
• You can even adjust the sleeve or torso length (longer or shorter) at an additional cost of $15 for sleeves and $15 for torso (i.e. $30 for both).
