When the weather starts to chill, we have you covered with our Autumn Classic weekend!

Each year Bike North takes a few days to ride an area with some Autumn colour in the Autumn Classic weekend of rides!
All rides are led by certified Bike North Ride Leaders following all the usual protocols. Most rides are on cycle paths with some road or on-road cycle lanes.
All members are invited. Not yet a member? No worries, join up in advance and we will welcome you along.
In advance, the tour organisers choose interesting, different and scenic rides each year. Riders register for the rides using the Calendar, as usual, and are expected to be self-sufficient in terms of their equipment.
The rides in Canberra may also coincide with some exhibitions at one of the national galleries or museums so you might want to plan a day before or after the rides for a cultural activity.
Getting there
Transport to and from Canberra will be the responsibility of participants. Any carpooling is directly arranged between individual participants. Travelling by train to Canberra is an option, the train is in one the suburbs with a few kms ride to the city / hotel areas
Accommodation
Participants need to make their own accommodation bookings.
The rides leave from Haig Park so the accommodation in the Northbourne Ave or the Civic areas are only a couple of blocks ride to the start.
Gear
Standard on-bike requirements including warm clothing for on and off the bike. Include a wet weather jacket if forecast includes showers. Ensure you have lights if planning to ride after sunset. Ensure you have your own tool kit and spares. Ride Leaders will carry first aid kits, however you may bring your own if you wish.
Meals
Breakfasts are at your choice. On each ride, however, we will have a Bike North coffee stop. Depending on the ride distance and pace, a second coffee or early lunch stop may be included. Check the details of your ride on the Calendar to find out.
For evening meals, you may make your own arrangements or join in a group booking. The more the merrier! All details will be provided after registration and closer to the date.
Off-ride activities
Being the national capital, there is usually a selection of great exhibitions at the national galleries or museums in Canberra, you might wat to visit one after a ride or extend your stay.
